A Tunecode© works on the following principle: A user must push the right key only while the proper note is sounding. Hence, there is a "tunecode" associated with certain notes in the melody. This code is a function of both the key to be pressed/pushed and the note that is sounding. The number of combinations, in a cryptological sense, is enormous. If you push the wrong key, or push the right key at the wrong time, or fail to push the right key at the right time, the protected information will remain "locked." The faster the melody plays (lower the tempo number) the less time it takes to enter the "tunecode," within the limits of the dexterity of the user.
To start: Push the start key and you will hear a melody play. (For a different melody, download the following file to your desktop and refresh the page. New Melody Initially, it is best to start with the simpler default melody.
To Determine Code: Push the "Show Code" button and the appropriate key to press (or button to click with mouse) will be displayed while the proper note is sounding. For an actual application, this "feature" would not exist.
For a challenge: Increase the tempo (decrease the tempo number). For an actual application, you would ideally have your custom melody play as fast as comfortable so actuation is as rapid as possible. You can attempt operation an unlimited number of times.
